James R. Nanovic is a lifelong resident of Carbon County. He was raised in Palmerton and has resided in Lehighton since 1985.
He graduated from Palmerton High School in 1978 and continued his education at the University of Notre Dame were he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, in 1982. He is a 1985 graduate of The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University, Carlisle, Pa.
Attorney Nanovic began practicing law in 1985 with his father, Roger N. Nanovic, at 57 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, were he maintains a general practice of law in the areas of civil litigation, domestic relations, wills and estate planning, real estate, zoning and municipal law, corporations, and criminal law.
Attorney Nanovic was admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1985 and has also been admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
James R. Nanovic is currently the solicitor for East Penn Township, Lower Towamensing Township, Weatherly Borough, East Side Borough, Jim Thorpe Borough, Lehigh Township, Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority, Weissport Zoning Hearing Board, Carbon County Redevelopment Authority, and Central Carbon Municipal Authority.
He is a member of the Carbon County Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association.
He maintains his law practice at Nanovic Law Offices, 57 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, and at 175 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, as a partner with his father, Roger N. Nanovic of Palmerton, and his brother, Thomas S. Nanovic of Jim Thorpe.
